Reece Cattermole is the UK's only deaf boxer to hold a professional license.

The 21-year-old, from Ipswich, was diagnosed with a genetic hearing condition at the age of three.

Since then, he has overcome numerous challenges and is now preparing for his first professional fight in London.

"If I'm fully going at it with my opponent, I might struggle to hear whether the bell goes off," Reece explains.

But the aspiring boxer doesn't let that put him off.

"It just comes natural. You can read a body movement. You know when to start, when to go, what your coach is saying."

Reece says that he picks up a lot of what's being said through lip-reading.

He started boxing at just the age of 11 as a way of coping, and has had expert help from coaches ever since.

Reece is now preparing for his first ever professional fight in London on the 19th May 2018.

You can watch his full interview with the BBC here.

We wish you the best of luck Reece!
